How can I protect my personal information? (What is Shielded WHOIS?)
Solution We are committed to ensuring the privacy of your personal details. However please note that all details associated with a domain name form part of a public record known as the WHOIS service. This allows any internet user to check on the ownership and contact details of a domain name. The publication of data in WHOIS is an ICANN requirement.

If you do not wish your personal details to be published in WHOIS you should use our Shielded WHOIS service to provide extra protection of your identity.

Shielded Whois provides you with the following services:
i) Enhanced privacy through removal of your personal details from any WHOIS requests for this domain.
ii) Forwarding of all email sent to contacts listed in the protected whois for your domain.
iii) Prevents the majority of spam, worms and viruses being sent to you by email. The email addresses listed in the WHOIS record for your domain change daily to ensure that they cannot be stored in databases by spammers and malicious persons.

Shielded Whois Service can be enabled or disabled at any time free of charge during your subscription period.

To set up Shielded Whois Service:
Login to the registrant, admin, or tech contact's account. Click on the "Shielded Whois" tool on the left side of your main account page. Choose the domain in the drop-down menu and click "Submit". Enter the credit card details and click "Submit".
